THE EATING PLACE
CASTLE STREET
The Eating Place will now be open from 12pm to 7pm on the 2nd last & last Thursday of the month. 30th August, 13 & 27th September.

“The Eating Place” is a new concept in street markets, designed specifically for the newly enhanced Castle Street, which has been revamped to create a high quality urban space.

The Eating Place is a high quality event, appropriate to the street, designed to enrich the lives of city centre residents, as well as bring people into the city centre and encourage them to stay, shop, eat and use the city centre attractions. The market has been designed to enhance late night shopping hours and to complement the street working hours.

The Eating Place is the first event in the new Events Programme for Castle Street, designed to animate the space in a high quality and appropriate manner. The name of the market “The Eating Place” conveys that this is a market with a difference. The market will introduce people to the best produce which Edinburgh and its region has to offer but not just produce which is Scottish in origin – we see this market growing over time to reflect the rich cultural diversity of our region with produce from the many different cultural origins which our food offer in Edinburgh is drawn from.
