TRAM UPDATES
The tram mock-up has been open to visitors from Monday, 23 February and has proven a great success. To date there have been over 28,000 visitors, and the mock-up will be open until Sunday, 14 March (11am-6pm).

As well as giving visitors a sneak preview of what Edinburgh's trams will look like on the streets in 2011, the model has also been used to carry out important engineering and safety checks.

Feedback forms have been completed on the mock-up and the results have been encouraging. You can view images of the tram mock-up by clicking on the following link - Tram mock-up

JAMES CLERK MAXWELL STATUE UNVEILED

East End OF GEORGE STREET

This is the latest edition to George Street's statues and is the first to be installed in almost a century.

Produced by Paisley-based sculptor, Alexander Stoddart and commissioned by The Royal Society of Edinburgh, it honours James Clerk Maxwell (1831 -1879), one of Scotland's most significant mathematicians and theoretical physicists.

ST. ANDREW SQUARE GARDENS

On April the 4th 2008, St. Andrew Square Gardens were opened to the public for the first time in generations.

The £2.6 million makeover project is a result of a partnership with The City of Edinburgh Council, Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian. New features include two new entrance gates, curved footpaths linking to the new entrances, a reflective pool in the south west corner, floodlit trees and a glass café pavillion offering coffee by Coffee Republic.
